Charlie Davis Obituary

Charlie Lawrence Davis, of Malvern, PA, passed away on February 27, 2024. He was born on February 8, 1939, in Canton, OH to Howard L. and Helen L. (Finney) Davis.

Charlie grew up in Canton and graduated from Lehman High School in 1957. He joined the U.S. Army in 1959 to see the world and to be able to choose his Military Occupational Specialty. He became a Medical Laboratory Technician and served at various duty assignments including Vietnam.

His first introduction to Chester County was when he was stationed at Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. While in the service, he was able to attend, and graduate from, Villanova University. After graduating, Charlie was stationed in various places including Ft. Knox, KY, and Ft. Lewis, WA. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service and returned to Chester County to work at Paoli Memorial Hospital.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Dragomire and his younger brother, Stephen Dragomire. He is survived by his wife Helen A. (Hackenberg) Davis; sons Howard K. Davis, and wife Marjorie A. Davis, Christian L. Davis, Joshua M. Davis, and wife Mijeong Davis; brother Charles Dragomire; sisters Charlene Spencer and Claudia Eakin; and 7 grandchildren.

Charlie was mainly known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, fishing, traveling, watching the Eagles and Phillies play and watching birds and nature on his back deck.

Charlie has been buried at the Philadelphia Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations can be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans.
