Catherine R. Souder

Catherine R. Souder, a loving and devoted Mother, Nana, and Great Nana, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023 in Media, PA at the age of 95. She was born on April 1, 1928 in Wayne, PA.   Catherine was a life long resident of the area who dedicated her life to her family.

A graduate of Marple Newtown High School, Catherine focused her life on nurturing and supporting her family.  She married the late Edward T. Souder and together they raised 5 loving children:  Larry, Donna, Linda, Claire and Brian (deceased).  Brian, her Down Syndrome son, was the light of her life.  She always felt very blessed that God chose her to be his mom.   As a devoted Mother, Catherine’s life was a testament to the power of love and family.

Throughout her life, Catherine was known for her loving, thoughtful and kind nature.  Catherine’s interests centered around her family.  Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all those who knew her and her home was always filled with laughter and love. 

As a Nana and Great Nana, Catherine continued to shower her family with love and affection.  She was a constant presence at family gatherings where she delighted in watching her 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren grow.  Her children and grandchildren knew they could always rely on her for guidance, support and a listening ear.

As we remember Catherine, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the profound impact she had on the lives of her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones forever.
