Catherine E. Fugedy

Catherine E. Fugedy, nee Kremer,  a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, in Phoenixville, PA. Born on August 6, 1939, in Budapest, Hungary, Catherine's life was a rich tapestry of experiences and relationships that touched many hearts.

Catherine carried the warmth of her homeland and Europe always in her heart as she made her way to the United States with her parents. She shared many Hungarian and German family traditions with all who knew her.

As a teacher, Catherine was known for her unwavering commitment to her students.  She loved teaching and it showed every day she was at school.  Later after marrying and having children, she would go on to substitute teach many children at the local parish schools.

Her love for children was not confined to being a teacher. Catherine was the cherished provider of childcare for many family members and friends.  Children loved spending time with her, feeling her warmth. kindness and creativity.

Catherine's family was the center of her universe. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary McKenzie, her caring son-in-law, Gene Schall,  her beloved granddaughters, Elizabeth and Olivia McKenzie, as well as many family members around the world.

Catherine E. Fugedy, will be very missed by all who knew her.  Her memory will be cherished, her lessons remembered, and her spirit will continue to guide us. We love you.
