Carolyn Dinkelacker Obituary

Carolyn "Carol" Jane (nee Sterling) Dinkelacker, 90, of West Chester, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 10, 2022. She was the wife of Karl Erwin Dinkelacker. The couple have been married 70 years. They married in Grace Lutheran Church, Broomall on October 20th, 1951; the first wedding in the church where she was a charter member of the church.

Born in Highland Park, Delaware Co. on November 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late J. Frank and Edith A. (nee Miller) Sterling.

Carol was an avid gardener who took pride in cultivating beautiful flowers and tending to her garden at her home. She also enjoyed sewing, painting ceramics and making crafts with her husband. Together they would participate in local craft shows. She volunteered at her church and one of her most rewarding acts was cooking for the homeless. She and other church members would gather in the church kitchen on a regular basis to prepare these meals. Always giving  to others.

Family meant the world to her. She loved to cook, and hosting family gatherings brought her much joy. Through these gatherings her children learned the importance of family values. Her legacy will live in their hearts forever.

Surviving is her beloved husband, Karl E. Dinkelacker; her son, Kurt E. Dinkelacker and his wife, Barbara Phillips; Carol's two daughters, Lisa A. (nee Dinkelacker) Test and Karen L. (nee Dinkelacker) Misher and her husband, David; nine grandchildren, Melissa Ruby, Alan Test, II and his wife, Brooke, Kristen Hunter and her husband, Matt, Kathryn Dinkelacker and her husband, Sam Segal, Kyle Misher, Joseph Phillips, Tara Misher, Charles Phillips and Justin Misher; eleven great grandchildren, Annabella Hunter, Emma Hunter, Lily Rae, Nevin Hain, Michaela Granger, Nathan Granger, Alex Delise, Richard J. Ruby, Jaxon Ruby, Alan Test, III, Jocelyn Test and one on the way, Thea Swan.

Sadly, she is predeceased by two great grandchildren, Alexander M. Hunter and Mason A. Hunter.
