Carol Dyer Obituary

Carol Graham Dyer, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved educator, passed away after a life marked by deep love for her family, a passion for learning, and a steady kindness that touched everyone who knew her.

Carol grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Earl and Evalyn Graham. She was bright, thoughtful, and warm—someone who listened closely, cared deeply, and made people feel at ease simply by being near her.

While attending Lycoming College, Carol met the love of her life, William Dyer. Their marriage was the foundation of her world and a source of lasting joy. William preceded her in death, and Carol carried his memory with enduring love.

Carol graduated from Lycoming College in 1968 and later earned a master’s degree in mathematics from Villanova University. She devoted her career to teaching—especially the middle school years—where her patience and steady encouragement helped students believe in themselves.

Carol began teaching mathematics at Bala Cynwyd Middle School, where she was known as a gifted and compassionate teacher who truly cared about her students. She later continued her teaching career at Akiba Academy, bringing the same warmth, high standards, and unwavering support to every classroom. Her excellence in education earned her national award recognition for teaching, a meaningful reflection of the impact she had on countless students and families.

In 1994, Carol and William moved to Bay Village, Ohio, where Carol continued to do what she loved. She worked at Fuchs Mizrachi School, serving as Head of the Mathematics Department, and was admired for her leadership, fairness, and the calm confidence she brought to everything she did.

Above all, Carol’s greatest joy was her family. She was the loving mother of Kimberly Martin (married to Charles Martin) and Kevin Dyer (married to Julie Kelly Dyer), and the proud grandmother of Mason, Riley, Charlie, Avery, and Natalie. She showed her love in countless ways—through her presence, her encouragement, her steadiness, and the comfort of knowing she was always there.

Carol will be remembered for her intelligence, warmth, and gentle spirit. She was loved by all and will be profoundly missed.
