Carol F. Conroy (nee Forand), a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, at the age of ninety-seven in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania at White Horse Village. Born in 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late Edgar J. and Florence H. Forand. A 1945 graduate from Upper Darby High School, she became the beloved wife of the late Joseph Edmond Conroy, Jr. (Ed), with whom she shared a life full of joy and devotion. They made their home for 40 years in Marple Township PA where they raised their family and, subsequently, moved to White Horse Village in 2001.
Carol's life was a testament to her faith-filled spirit, a love for the outdoors and dedication to her family and friends. She was a guiding light in the lives of her children, Mark E. Conroy and Renee J. Kelly. Carol's legacy flourished through her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Carol's late siblings, Charles, Donald, and Edgar, remembered her as a sister who brought comfort and joy into their lives. She was a central figure in family gatherings, and her presence will be profoundly missed.
A lifelong member of Marple and Swarthmore Presbyterian Churches, Carol's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Her involvement in church activities and choir not only exemplified her commitment to her beliefs but also highlighted her faith in God. Carol's selflessness was evident in the way she approached her faith and her relationships.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Carol will recall a woman whose every action was motivated by love and her decades of passion for swimming, tennis, and golf. Whether through her nurturing care for her family or her unwavering support for her friends, Carol touched the lives of many. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Carol F. Conroy will be laid to rest, together with her beloved husband, Ed, in a private ceremony. As we reflect on Carol's journey on this earth, we are comforted by the thought that she has been welcomed into eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her.
We honor the life of Carol F. Conroy, a woman of grace, strength, and compassion. Her story does not end here, for her legacy is one that will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Carol, until we meet again.
