Betty Fell Obituary

Betty Fox Fell, a beacon of gentle love and selflessness, passed away peacefully at her sons home in West Grove, Pennsylvania, on April 4, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on August 31, 1928, in Orange, New Jersey, to the late Edward and Claire (House) Fox, Betty's warm smile and tender heart touched everyone she met throughout her remarkable life.

Betty grew up in a nurturing environment, which was further enriched by the companionship of her late brother Philip Fox and his wife, Barbara, and her late sister Marilyn Marvel and her husband, Bill. It was this foundation of family love that Betty carried into her own life as she built a family with her late beloved husband, Shearmen Fell. Together, they journeyed through life as best friends, always side by side, sharing a profound bond that was evident to all who knew them.

Betty's devotion to her family was her guiding star. She was a loving mother to Stephen S. Fell and his wife, Lisa of Media, Dianne L. (Fell) Carr of Media, and Douglas S. Fell and his wife, Mary Kay of New London Twp. Her role as a grandmother to Douglas J. Fell and his wife, Natalie of Philadelphia, Sarah M. Petro and her husband, Michael of East Fallowfield Twp., Meghann E. Micek and her husband, Stephen of Lincoln University, and Taylor R. Holder and her husband, Nick of Lancaster, brought her immense joy. The light of her life shone even brighter with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Naevy James and Laine Elliott Micek of Lincoln University.

A life-long member of the Marple Presbyterian Church, Betty's faith was integral to her being. She lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and a spirit of generosity that knew no bounds. Her church community was a source of strength and fellowship that she treasured deeply.

Betty's zest for life was evident in her love for travel. Alongside her husband, she explored the United States in their motorhome, creating a tapestry of memories from the wonders they encountered on their journeys. Her passion for gardening was another facet of her love for life's simple pleasures. Betty found serenity and joy in the beauty of nature, tending to her garden with the same care and devotion she gave to her loved ones.

Family was Betty's cornerstone, her greatest pride, and her most cherished accomplishment. The love she cultivated within her family extended outward, touching the hearts of friends and community members alike. Betty lived a life of giving, often placing the needs of others before her own, embodying the essence of selflessness.

As we remember Betty Fox Fell, we celebrate a life lived with grace, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her gentle presence will be profoundly missed, but the legacy of her love will continue to bloom in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Betty's life was a testament to the beauty of a kind spirit and the enduring power of love. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her extraordinary life.
