Betty Bell Obituary

Betty P. Bell, passed away on March 20, 2025, at the age of 96 in Broomall, PA. Born on May 31, 1928, in Williamsport, PA, Betty lived a faith-filled life marked by devotion to her family, friends, and community.

Betty's journey began in Williamsport Pa the daughter of Gordon and Frances Phleger. She spent her youth growing up in the town of Milton PA. She was a graduate of Milton High School and then attended Gettysburg College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She completed her education by earning the required credits to pursue a career in elementary education. She dedicated 30 years of her life to nurturing young minds as a beloved 2nd-grade teacher. After college she met her late husband, William F. Bell, with whom she had been married for almost 50 years. Together they built a lifetime of memories and raised a family of strong values and love, including sons Timothy S. Bell and Stephen A. Bell, as well as daughters-in-law Myra Y. Bell and Lisa B. Bell. Betty's role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one she embraced with immense joy and pride. Her grandchildren, Melanie Ryan, Scott Bell, Jessica Bell, Jaclyn Weiss, and Ricky Bell, along with her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Landen, William, Autumn, Harrison, Max, Brian, and Wyatt, were the apples of her eye and a source of endless happiness.

Betty's zest for life was fueled by her love for travel and social interaction. After she retired the time spent traveling with her husband and travel companions was one of her fondest memories. She cherished the moments spent with family and friends. Her unwavering faith was evident through her active involvement in church activities, where she served and celebrated her community with grace and humility. Those who knew Betty would fondly remember her as a spirited soul. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and the power of faith, which guided her every step.

Betty's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to resonate in the stories shared and the memories cherished. Her guiding light will forever shine in the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her memory will be held dear in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

April 12th – 10:30 am, A memorial service will be held at Reformation Lutheran Church, 102 W. Rose Tree Rd., Media, PA 19063. In lieu of flowers contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to the Reformation Lutheran Church Youth Scholarship Fund.
