Barbara (née Cousins) Duffy, 85, of Havertown passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 3, 2022.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on January 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (née Thompson) Cousins. After graduating from Bartram High School, she went on to teach ballet, tap, and jazz at her dance studio in Southwest Philadelphia. She left the workforce to raise her children, afterwards finding employment with The Mustard Seed bookstore. Following her time there, she worked in the Accounting Department for The Melmark Home and (later) Brian’s House. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and faithful member at New Hope Christian Church in Broomall. Barb loved music (primarily singing) and the beach; she was an avid Phillies fan.
She was the beloved wife to the late Albert James “Jim” Duffy, Jr., and the loving mother to their two children, Kenneth J. Duffy of Havertown, PA, and Sheryl D. Trefsgar of Maple Shade, NJ. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Theodore W. Trefsgar, Jr.; as well as her 5 beautiful grandchildren: Elisabeth G. Trefsgar, Sarah D. Trefsgar, Isaac J. Trefsgar, J. Luke Trefsgar, and C. Jude Trefsgar.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 15th at New Hope Christian Church, 551 Paxon Hollow Rd, Broomall, PA 19008 where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 A.M. Following the Memorial Service, relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the interment at Edgewood Memorial Park, 325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
