Antoinette Callos Obituary

Antoinette C. (nee Prote) Callos, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the age of 94, in Hockessin, Delaware. Formerly of Havertown, Yeadon, and South Philly.  Born on August 22, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Antoinette's life was a tapestry of heartfelt connections and enduring family bonds.

Antoinette's early life in Philadelphia was marked by her commitment to education and community. A proud graduate of South Phila High School, she carried the lessons learned and friendships made there throughout her life. Her career was a reflection of her dedication to service, working first in the Yeadon Library, where she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and helpful nature. Later, she contributed her talents to the Administration at the Holy Cross Cemetery, a role that she performed with utmost respect and care for the families she served.

In her personal life, Antoinette was the beloved wife of the late Anthony T. Callos, a cherished partnership that was a testament to mutual respect and deep affection. She was a loving mother to Michael A. (Barbara) Callos and Patricia B. (Joseph) McCarthy, instilling in them the values of kindness, education, and the importance of family. Antoinette's role as a grandmother was one she held dear, offering wisdom, laughter, and an endless supply of love to her grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Reeves, Lisa (Christopher) DiCesare, Joseph McCarthy, Jr., Kevin McCarthy, and Thomas McCarthy. Her presence in their lives will be profoundly missed.

Though her sister Josephine Morrone predeceased her, Antoinette's spirit of sisterhood extended to all she met. Her ability to forge lasting relationships was one of her most remarkable traits. Friends and family alike will remember her as a woman who was not only loving and friendly but endlessly interesting.

As we bid farewell to Antoinette C. Callos, we celebrate her remarkable journey through life and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her love will forever be the light in the hearts of her family and friends. Antoinette's life was a true embodiment of love in action, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.
