Anthony J. Gambacorta, affectionately known as Tony, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2023, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Born on December 30, 1966, in Scranton, PA, Tony lived a life full of joy, humor, and intelligence that touched everyone he met.
Tony was a beloved figure within his large and loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kay (nee McNally) Gambacorta, and his four loving daughters, Nina, Claire, Mia, and Julia, who were his pride and joy. Son of the late Joseph Gambacorta. Survived by his loving mother, Joanne Gambacorta, loving brother, Joseph (Linda) Gambacorta, and loving sister Theresa (Jason) and nephew Levi, as well as a very special Uncle Ed, best friends Michael MacDonald and Bill Logan, along with numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins who are left with cherished memories of a man who was both a friend and a mentor.
Tony was a proud graduate of Scranton Central High School in 1984, before going on to earn his Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration and Management, Finance, from Wilkes University in 1988, and later, an MBA in Finance in 1991. His commitment to education was evident in his successful career and the respect he earned from his colleagues.
In his professional life, Tony was a dedicated and successful man. He held Series 7, 63, and 65, was an Eagle Scout, and was a recipient of TD Bank's "Merit Award" and "Vision in Action Award of Distinction." These awards recognized him as one of the top performers who surpassed expectations and consistently delivered legendary experiences to customers. Tony was renowned for his professionalism, his world-class service to clients, and most of all, for being a loyal colleague and friend in whom his colleagues placed their complete confidence.
Tony had a wide array of interests that reflected his spirited and intelligent personality. He was passionate about his family, especially his four daughters. He loved spending time with them and they were the world to him. A lover of coins and the stock market, Tony also found joy in history trivia, travel, and the beauty of Jupiter, Florida sunrises. A lifelong fan of space, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Marvel. Tony also had a deep appreciation for music, enjoying artists as diverse as Muse, Cat Stevens, Leonard Cohen, Metallica, The Dead South, Rammstein, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He was also a Philadelphia sports fan and had a great love for the Eagles and the Phillies. His love for chess was another testament to his keen intellect and strategic mindset.
Tony was known for his humor, intelligence, and spirited nature. He had an uncanny ability to make people laugh, and his Merrill Reese impression was a crowd favorite. His love for Elvis was also well known, and his knowledge of history trivia was unmatchable. Favorite vehicle is his Ford Bronco. Tony's love for life, his unwavering spirit, and his vivacious personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and those fortunate enough to have known him.
