Anthony "Tony" Thomas Camerote, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, in Secane. Born December 6, 1936, in Philadelphia, to parents Peter and Theresa (Campisi) Camerote, Tony's life was marked by a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Tony was a proud graduate of Springfield High School and went on to serve his country as an Army Reservist. His career was defined by his expertise in the heating and air conditioning industry, where he worked with National Heating and Air and Trane-HVAC, as well as serving as a skilled pipefitter at the Naval Shipyard. His hands were often busy at work. He spent his final years at Haskins House in Secane where he was well-cared for and loved.
He was the husband of the late Victoria Diane (DiMeo) Camerote. Also surviving are his children: Mark A. Camerote and his companion, Danielle Frost of West Chester; Linda Agatone and her husband, Dominick of Springfield; Anthony J. Camerote of Media; and Victoria A. Negro and her husband, Matthew of Broomall.
Tony had pride in his grandchildren—Anthony, Alaina, Dana Rose, Matthew, Jr., and Olivia. His legacy continued with his great-grandchildren, Jaylynn, Tommy, Ashtonn, and Avionn.
Tony was predeceased by his brother, James T. Camerote, but his memory lives on through his nephew, Christopher Camerote, and the many family members and friends who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Known for his sharp wit and keen intelligence, Tony was an avid follower of both local and federal politics. He believed in the importance of staying informed and was always ready to engage in a lively discussion. His sense of humor brought laughter to any room.
Tony’s pride in his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments was evident as he never missed an opportunity to praise their many achievements to his friends and acquaintances.
