Anne Waring Obituary

Anne M. Waring (née Flood), age 76, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021.  Anne was the loving daughter of the late George and Mary (née Scarry) Flood, the devoted wife of the late Thomas P. Waring, and the cherished mother of Thomas P. Waring Jr, Anne Kelly, Christine Walsh (Mike) and James Waring (Cyndi). She was the adoring Mom Mom of Andrew, Matthew, Conor, Haley, Michael, Kevin, Maura, Carly and Michael, and her great- grandson, Jaxson.  Anne is the beloved sister of Agnes Joiner (the late Bill), George Flood (Sally), Patricia Flood, and the late Mary Wood (the late Bart), Margaret Frain, John Flood, and her twin sister, Theresa Flood. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in the Schuylkill section of Philadelphia, Anne grew up in a large, close-knit family. She and her twin sister, Theresa, were the youngest of eight children. Anne was a proud graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls, class of 1963.  She was a dedicated employee of the Police and Fire Medical Association for over 30 years.

In 1966 Anne married Thomas and lovingly raised their four children in the Summerdale section of Northeast Philadelphia, St. Martin of Tours Parish. Anne was an avid sports fan with the Phillies and Flyers being her favorite teams. She enjoyed watching her kids play sports, going to the casinos with her sisters, singing, dancing, doing the Mummers strut, and spending time with family. Anne was proud of her Irish heritage and went to the St. Patrick’s Day parade every year with her family.

Anne loved being with her children and has stated that her proudest moment in life was being called their Mother.  But nothing meant more to her than spending endless days and nights with the loves of her life, her nine grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She made up her own song, Hunny Bunny, which she sang to them as babies while rocking them to sleep. Anne never missed a game, a dance recital, a school event or special occasion. She spent many fun hours on the Wildwood boardwalk with her grandkids, especially in Gateway 26 playing the claw and the slots, always ending the night with ice cream!  As the kids would say, she was the Best Mom Mom Ever!! Anne was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild, a beautiful baby boy named Jaxson. In his short time with her he brightened her days and stole her heart.

Anne will be terribly missed by those who love her. Our only comfort is knowing she is no longer in pain and is resting peacefully in Heaven with her husband, Thomas.

Goodnight and God Bless, Mom. We love you, always and forever xoxo
