Ann Mellgren Fourakis

Ann Mellgren Fourakis, 63, of West Chester, passed peacefully surrounded by her family in her home on Saturday evening, June 11th, 2022. She was the loving wife of Manos Fourakis and devoted mother of twins, Lia and Marie Fourakis.

Born on September 13, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN, daughter of Wesley Mellgren and the late Marie Spong Mellgren. Ann graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1975 and Hamline University in 1978. On August 16, 1981, she married Manos Fourakis. They celebrated 40 years of marriage this past year. She began her professional career with Honeywell, as a marketing specialist. Her work took her to Brussels, Paris, Boston, Phoenix and Pennsylvania, to name just a few. Her current employment was with The Vanguard Group.

She loved the challenges, stimulation and satisfaction of her work. Ann enjoyed traveling, specifically to Europe and vacationing in Greece. She loved the garden trips with the Cul-de-sac girls. The holidays were her time to decorate and bake. She embraced physical challenges, whether with weights in the gym or running a 5k race. Broadway shows and weekends in New York were what she looked forward to every year. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially on the patio.

In addition to her husband, daughters and father; Ann is survived by her three siblings, Dave Mellgren and his wife, Carol of Vail, AZ, Mary (Mellgren) Sorlie and her husband, Chuck of St. Paul, MN; Steve Mellgren of Cave Creek, AZ; brother-in-law, Marios Fourakis and his wife, Jan and many nieces and nephews.

Ann is predeceased by her mother, Marie and her in-laws, Evangelia and Stylianos Fourakis.

A private Celebration of Life is planned.
