Angele "Nina" (Kechichian) Klimaszewski

     Angele “Nina” Klimaszewski (nee Kechichian), 87, of Media, passed away on February 23, 2020 at Paoli Hospital in Paoli, PA. Nina was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. She was a strong and independent woman in a region and during a time where that was frowned upon. She traveled and worked throughout the Middle East, Northern Africa, and New York City. Nina spoke her mind freely in many different languages and never backed down from a challenge, those traits served her well. 

     Nina loved her family dearly and was predeceased by her parents Abraham and Eliza (nee Azadian) Kechichian, sisters Claire Balian, Violette Kechichian, Selwa El Masri, and brother Paul Keshishian. Nina is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (aka Liza) Tierney and husband (Gary), granddaughters Gabrielle Tierney and Kelsey Tierney, and so many nieces and nephews in the U.S. and abroad. 

     Nina’s second love was for all animals. She had many dogs over the course of her life and spoiled all of them with love, affection and many treats. She regularly entertained squirrels and birds on her balcony by hand feeding them and providing them with water. She spent many enjoyable hours mesmerized by her favorite TV show “The Incredible Dr. Pol”.

     Nina was very outgoing and loved to converse and meet new people. Within thirty minutes of engaging a stranger, she could tell you more about that person than any of that individual’s own neighbors. 

     While Nina’s last 18 months were a struggle and she mostly lost her independence, she did still manage to retain her strong personality. Her many caregivers often commented how Nina would readily offer her advice on their hairstyles. She was quick to compliment manicured nails or a well put together outfit. Occasionally she also commanded directives while being cared for, with classic Nina sayings such as “THAT’S ENOUGH, ENOUGH ALREADY”

     Nina was definitely a character full of life who left her mark on everyone she met and will always be remembered. 

     There will be a private gathering in celebration of her life in the very near future for immediate family.
