Andrew (Drew) Hoffner Obituary

Andrew Paul (Drew) Hoffner, of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 67. Raised in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family and service to his clients. He brought warmth and energy to every room he entered.

Drew was the third son of the late Edgar Trainor and Margaret Mary Way Hoffner. He was a devoted father to Andrew Trainor (Trae) Hoffner and Bryce William Hoffner, and took immense pride in them throughout their lives. He is also survived by his former spouse and mother of his children, Lorraine Mattila, and by his siblings: Christine Hoffner O'Toole and her husband, Jim; Carol Hoffner Denny; Matthew Hoffner and his wife, Kate; Anita Hoffner Nardone and her husband, Andy; and Margaret Mary (Meg) Hoffner McKenna, wife of the late John McKenna. He  was preceded in death by his brother, William E. (Bill) Hoffner. Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews, who enjoyed his vibrant spirit.

Drew graduated from Cardinal O'Hara High School and earned his undergraduate degree in economics at St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont, in 1982. In addition to the many close friendships he formed there, he discovered a passion for his subject that helped lay the foundation for a successful professional life. During Drew’s career, he worked as a wealth manager at Dean Witter/Morgan Stanley, UBS, RW Baird, and Royal Bank of Canada. In each position, Drew earned the respect of colleagues and clients through his loyalty, dedication, professionalism, and steady presence. He was known for his intelligence, reliability, and ability to build lasting relationships.

Drew was also deeply connected to the places and pursuits that brought him joy. He loved squash and tennis and was a member of The Racquet Club of Philadelphia, where he enjoyed the competition, camaraderie and active lifestyle that suited him so well. He cherished playing sports with his sons and was a devoted fan of Villanova University teams. He treasured time spent at the Jersey Shore, particularly Beach Haven and Avalon, New Jersey, and in Boca Grande, Florida.

Drew will be remembered for his vitality, sincerity and generosity, as well as his gift for listening. As many have noted, he held himself to a high standard of integrity in his business dealings and maintained close connections to family and friends, whom he made to feel valued and understood. May his memory be a blessing.

A memorial service will be held on May 15 from 5:30-7:00pm at the Logan-Videon Funeral Home, 2001 Sproul Rd, Broomall, PA 19008.
