Albert George Mikalauskas

Albert George Mikalauskas, 89, of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, passed away April 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 16, 1936, in St. Clair, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George “Rock” Mikalauskas — whose own legacy lives on in the George “Rock” Mikalauskas Little League Field in Saint Clair — and Mary Mikalauskas.

Albert grew up in the coal regions in the town of St. Clair, where he distinguished himself early as both a scholar and an athlete. He graduated from St. Clair High School, Class of 1954, before going on to earn his degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  He was a Navy Veteran and very proud to serve his country, the United States of America.

It was at Penn that Albert set the foundation for a distinguished career that would take him to the highest levels of Philadelphia’s business community. He joined PECO Energy Company, the region’s major electric and gas utility, and rose to serve as Vice President of Transmission and Distribution and Vice President of Commercial Operations. His tenure at PECO spanned over 25 years and left a lasting mark on the utility that powers millions of homes and businesses across the Philadelphia region.

Above all else, Albert was a devoted husband, father, and family man. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanne Hobbs Mikalauskas, of Mahanoy City. He is survived by his children: Kaitlyn Michele Mikalauskas, David (Stephanie) Mikalauskas, and Jeanne Mikalauskas (Jack Sweeney). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lauren Mikalauskas, Lyndsay Mikalauskas, Deanna (Linden) Mikalauskas, Abby Mikalauskas and Gabrielle Olsen.  Loving brother of the late Rose Marie Toback.

Albert was an avid fisherman, theater enthusiast, keen reader, coach, and passionate Philadelphia sports fan. He was Pop Pop to many, “Al-Father” to the lucky, and a friend to all who met him. He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation, Friday, May 8, 2026,  9:30 - 11:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA  19063 followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.  Interment at a later date.  Please join us for a Celebration of Life to follow at The Springhaven Club, 600 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19085.
