William Potance Obituary

William R Potance, age 90 of Exton passed away on March 3, 2018.  He was born in Hazleton, PA and was a graduate of Hazleton High School Class of 1945.  Bill was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Hazleton.  He served in the Navy during World War II.  He was employed by the US Postal Service until his retirement in 1989.

Bill was a resident of Exton for the past 21 years.  He was a member of Ss Philip & James Church and the Exton Knights of Columbus. 

Bill was a life member of the Pioneer Fire Company in Hazleton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine (Fellin), parents James and Zaidee (Schultz), siblings Louis, Joseph, Emma Chocolas, Jessie Boettner, Vincent, George, James, Lucille Potance, and Mary McCarthy.

Survived by daughter Jane Anderson and her husband James of Exton and grandsons Michael and Thomas.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at Ss Philip and James Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 13 at 10:30 am.  Friends may call between 9:30 and 10:15 am at the church.  Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Drums, PA at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Ss Philip & James Church.
