Russell "Chris" Tadeo, age 87, of Philadelphia, passed on November 1, 2019 at Presbyterian Medical Center. He is survived by his beloved husband Wayne Marquardt for 40 years, his sister Phyllis Smith (Frank), Sr. Linda Tan (OSF) and predeceased by Brothers Leonard, David, Clifford and Jerry. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a very supportive network of friends including John Cunningham, Robert Zanazanian and Diane Snipas.
Russell served in the Korean War as an Army Infantry Corporal. After the war he worked for the Merchant Marine for a number of years before setting up a house cleaning business and working as a security guard in the Philadelphia Library System until retirement. Chris was an avid Philadelphia historian and loved to inform friends and family of tales of Olde Philadelphia. Chris had many passions including classical music, a love for books, and haunting thrift shops and flea markets. He would frequently take requests from friends who were searching for their collections. He and Wayne traveled frequently throughout the West Coast, Hawaii, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and China.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Francis DeSales Church, 4625 Springfield Ave, Phila, PA 19143. Friends may call between 10-10:45 A.M. at the church also. Interment will be at Woodlands Cemetery, Phila, PA.
