Robert Allan “Al” Colledge, 76, of Chester Springs passed away on Saturday, April 8th, 2017, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, Al was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. After graduating from Moon Township High School in 1958, he attended Slippery Rock University where he achieved his own success on the football field as an all-star running back. While at The Rock, he met the captain of the cheerleading team, Charlotte Young, who went on to become his wife of 54 years and the mother of his three children.

Al began his career pursuing his passion for teaching and coaching at the high school level. He went on to enjoy successes in software development for the medical and banking industries. After his retirement, Al assumed the role of “The Facilitator” of many golf, bocce, and gin tournaments for family and friends. His other hobbies included world travel and spending winters in Florida, while rarely missing his grandchildren’s many sporting events, cheerleading competitions, and theatrical performances.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl Richter Colledge, Al is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Young) Colledge and his three children, Kristine Anne Theys (Robert), Karen Marie Mazzio (Michael), and Michael Allan Colledge (Alicia). His grandchildren include Andrew Theys (Jessica), Michael Theys, Alexandra Theys, Lauren Mazzio, Nicholas Mazzio, Victoria Colledge, Grace Mazzio, Madeleine Colledge, and Joseph Mazzio, as well as a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Theys.  His siblings include James Colledge, Grace Colledge Dombeck, Raymond Colledge, Keith Colledge and the late Robert Lee Colledge and Joya Flick as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Saints Philip and James Church, 107 N. Ship Road, Exton, PA.
