Joyce F. Knight

Joyce F. (nee Filer) Knight, of Rosemont, PA, passed away on April 21, 2019, at the age of 86.  Born November 4, 1932. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory to the charities listed below are appreciated.

Joyce was the devoted mother to four children; Carol (Greg) Flaig, Edward (deceased), Charles, and Jennifer (Doug) Yoder (also deceased.) Joyce was lovingly known as Granny to her 12 grandchildren: Mathew Flaig, Rachel Flaig, Patrick (Sara) Knight, Erika Knight, Kristopher Knight, Stephanie (Tim) Slye, Michelle (Mark) Harmon, Kirstin (Alex) Moss, Tessa Yoder, Caleb Yoder, Abigail Yoder (deceased), and Micah Yoder. She also had five great grandchildren - Colton Slye, Adalynn Slye, Jenna Harmon, Clara Harmon, and Emma Moss. She had four siblings Bob (Anne, Carter) Filer, Jeanne (Bill) Gradwell, Ted (Eleana) Filer, and Jack (Emily) Filer. She was the ex-wife of the late Daniel S. Knight. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Later in life she enjoyed immensely her friendship with Warren Langdon and his family in Wayne, PA.
While she grew up in Richmond, VA and lived briefly in Charlottesville, VA, she spent most of her life in Rosemont, PA working very hard at various jobs, especially at The Green Grocer in Ardmore. PA. She was happiest spending time in Nags Head, NC, taking her kids to The Circus Tent every night or just rocking on the porch of her summer home on Lake Bomoseen, VT, and waving to passing boats. It was a very special place that she gladly shared with many, many family members, good friends, and renters.
Joyce will be remembered as a loving mother, a beloved granny and great grandmother, a cherished sister, a hard worker, and a warm friend to many. Her life was devoted to selflessly loving all those whom she came in contact with. She is already greatly missed but free from all suffering in her new home, reunited at last with Jen, Abigail and Ed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her (joint with her son Edward) Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. on June 8, 2019 at the Narberth Presbyterian Church, 205 Grayling Avenue, Narberth, Pennsylvania  19072. A light lunch will follow.
