Mr. John Joseph (Jack) Collins died peacefully at home in Malvern, Pennsylvania, on 15 March 2018 at the age of 88.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ali Collins (nee McGoldrick); son J. Glen Collins and his partner Sergio Perez and; daughter Jacqueline Collins Spain, son-in-law David S. Spain, granddaughter A. Kylie Spain, her fiancé Justin Tyme Tauber, great-granddaughter Aria Tyme Tauber, and grandson Dylan Collins Spain; and son J. Christiaan Collins, daughter-in-law Rebecca Collins (nee Moore), and grandson, Lucas Collins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor O’Donnell Klein, and nephew, David O’Donnell.
Jack was born on 21 September 1929 in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Joseph and Anna Collins. He graduated with degrees in Chemistry from Mount Saint Mary’s University (BS) and Georgetown University (MSc). He married Ali on 6 August 1960.
In 2000, after a 48-year career in sales and marketing, Jack retired from Huls America, Inc. as Vice President & General Manager, Sales Colorants & Biocides Division, North America. Other than his wife and family, Jack’s biggest loves were baseball, football, and golf. He had an Irish wit, was a patriot, and enjoyed red wine, chocolate, and his favorite meal, spaghetti and clams.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass Tuesday, March 27th, 10:30 A.M.at Saints Philip & James Church, corner of Ship Rd. and Rte 30/E. Lincoln Hwy., Exton, Pennsylvania, where friends may call 9:30 to 10:15 A.M. at the church also. Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, Pennsylvania, with a reception to follow. Jack’s nephew, the Rev. Kevin Barry McGoldrick, will officiate the ceremony.
