JOAN OTTAVIANO MURATORE of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed away on June 19, 2018 at Atlantic Care Hospital. She was 82 years old. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on August 22, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Ann (Fragale) Ottaviano.
Joan grew up in Upper Darby, PA and attended St. Laurence Parish in Upper Darby. After marriage, she moved to Glenolden, and then settled in Broomall, PA.. In her later years, while working in NJ, she moved to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Joan most recently resided at Royal Suites Long Term Care Facility, Galloway, NJ
Along with her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Louis R. Muratore who passed away in 2011. They married in 1953. She is survived by her children, Rachelle Craig (Norman) Overland Park, KS and Jo-Ann Torcasio (Frank) of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. She was blessed with her grandsons; Ryan Craig, Las Vegas, NV , David Craig, Las Vegas, NV, and Nicholas Torcasio, Egg Harbor Twp , NJ She adored her great granddaughter, Victoria Torcasio of Egg Harbor Twp, NJ
She will be sorely missed by her sister, Sande Cohen (Moss). Grateful thanks to her loving niece Nicole Feeley, her nephews; Robert Muratore, Steven and Scott Campanella and the many spoiled doggies in her life. Sincere appreciation to her brother and sister in law, Phyllis and Joe Muratore for their continuous love and support. A special thanks to her “sisters” Alex Alessi and Deborah Bachor. She so appreciated all your visits!
She was cherished by her many friends and staff members at Royal Suites Nursing Home in Galloway, NJ
Joan enjoyed a long career as a Pit Clerk at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. She accrued many friends during her association in the gaming industry.
Joan was an active Girl Scout Leader helping to make many memories for youth leading camping trips and cookie drives. Joan had a gift for helping people, she possessed an incredible gift of intuition and insight, aiding authorities in locating missing persons.
We will miss Joan’s upbeat “Hi-Ya” greeting, her delicious home cooked meals and her uncanny memory! All were welcome at her table! We pray she is reunited with her beloved Louis R, her nephews, Louis Ottaviano, Joseph Muratore Jr. and her treasured pups.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Celebration of Joan’s Life on Saturday June 23rd with a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM at the Logan Funeral Home 57 South Eagle Rd. (just off of West Chester Pk) Havertown, PA
