Helen Dascher Obituary

Helen C. Dascher, 89 of West Chester , passed away on Sunday Aug. 11, 2019. She lived with her youngest of 4 children, Randall Dascher and his wife Elizabeth Dascher. She was the wife of George H. Dascher who passed away April 2004. They were married for 53 years. Helen was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late Robert and Viola Griggs. She was the 12th of 13 children. Helen worked at John Wanamakers in Philadelphia in the Toy Department. Helen enjoyed the Christmas Holidays as the store prepared for the busy season. She loved the lighting of the Christmas Tree. When she moved to West Chester she enjoyed raising her children in a fun neighborhood. (Carolyn Drive) Helen enjoyed baking with her fresh apples right off their trees. Helen was devoted to her husband George and looked forward to traveling. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas to play the slots, eat at new restaurants and enjoy Vegas Shows. Helen was also a true Mummers fan. Every year she would watch the whole parade. It was her only day she watched TV all day. She loved doing the Mummers Strut. She is survived by her 4 children, Ronald R. Dascher of Lancaster County Pa, Wayne Dascher of Landenberg Pa, Susan Dascher and husband Thomas Mandell of Somers Point NJ and Randall Dascher and his wife Elizabeth of West Chester Pa. In addition Helen had 4 grandchildren. Christopher Moors of Lakewood CO, Meredith Moors of Stamford Ct, Jessica Yarnall of West Grove Pa and Sarah Zunino of Earleville MD.

Helen’s service will be on Saturday,  Aug. 17th 2:00-4:00. Logan Funeral Home Inc., 698 East Lincoln Hwy.,  Exton,  PA 19341. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA 1212 Phoenixville Pike West Chester, PA 19380.
