Hassel Nordberg Obituary

Hassel Johan Nordberg, age 79, passed away on December 9, 2018.  Beloved husband of the late Maj-Britt Nordberg.  Son of the late Karl & Svea Nordberg.  He was born in Finland and came to the US in 1965 with his wife and oldest daughter and after a brief time in New York, settled in New Jersey.  Also lived in the Poconos and Coatesville, Pennsylvania and most recently, in Alpharetta, Georgia.    He was a Carpenter by trade and also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals, fishing, camping,vacations, playing the violin with friends late into the evening, trips to Finland and was very involved in the Scandinavian community including membership of the Manhem Club in Bronx, NY.  He was a sports fan but especially enjoyed, or despaired over, the NY Mets (depending on the year) and enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting and school activities.

 

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Maria (Kevin) Stivers and Eva (Sam) Levy and loving son Kenneth (Kelley) Nordberg, his loving grandchildren Ryan & Shea Stivers, Sean Nordberg, Maria, Annika, Marcus and Erik Levy, brothers Olav, Krister, and Harry Nordberg and sister Gunilla Nordberg Jauhiainen, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service, 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the LOGAN FUNERAL HOME, 698 E. Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA  19341.  A Visitation 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. will be held at funeral home also.  Interment private.  

In lieu of flowers family prefers contributions be made to The American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA  19103
