Harlan Ross, Jr. Obituary

Harlan P. Ross Jr. (Buck) passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his residence on March 14, 2018 at the age of 92.

Born in Germantown, PA and raised in Prospect Park, PA, Buck joined the Navy Armed Guard at the tender age of 17 where he fought for our country in WWII as a signalman on a Liberty ship and tug boat in both the European and Pacific Campaigns.    He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English from Ursinus College, married his now late wife, Marcia Ross in 1953 and raised two daughters in Exton, PA.

Buck held a long career in Real Estate and was a very active member of his community.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, acting, writing, and singing.  One of his greatest pleasures for many years was acting as the front man for a local big band.

In 2004, he was recognized for his service in WWII by receiving the French Legion of Honor Medal presented to him by the Presidents of the United States and France.

Buck is survived by his daughter Amy Lovell, David Lovell (son-in-law), grandchildren Ross and Nathan Lovell, and Steven Jaffe (son-in-law).  He was predeceased by his daughter Laura Jaffe.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday March 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Logan Funeral home, 698 East Lincoln Highway – Exton, PA 19341. Gathering begins at 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Buck’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville FL 32256 would be greatly appreciated
