On Friday, October 4th, 2019, Gloria "Gigi" (nee Trerice) Fritz, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86 due to cancer in her home.
The world became a brighter place on October 8th, 1932, when Gloria was born in Detroit, Michigan to William and Emma Trerice. She received her nursing degree from the University of Vermont and began her nursing career. She became a flight attendant for a short time before she picked up nursing again. In 1953, she met Robert Fritz in Pennsylvania through a mutual friend. They went on a blind date and on October 22nd, 1955, they got married. They raised four beautiful children. They lived in Wayne, PA for 48 years before moving to Freedom Village, where she resided for seven years until her passing.
Gloria loved to help people. Following retirement, she began volunteering at The Trading Post to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. She also loved to garden and had an amazing display of flowers when she lived in Wayne with her family. The world was her oyster and Gloria loved to travel. She went overseas with her husband multiple times, would vacation in Florida during the winter months, and in the summer Gloria and Robert would go to their Maine home and enjoy the lake. She was known for her vibrant personality, sharp wit, and her contagious smile.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father, William, her mother, Emma, and her two brothers, Bill and Bob. She is survived by her husband Robert, her four children, Sandy Fritz, Peter Fritz (Ida), Bo Fritz (Bernadette), and Amy Reilly (Tim), her three grandchildren, Alexa, Kaitlyn, and Emma, and several nieces and nephews.
On Thursday October 10th, a memorial service will be held at Logan Funeral Home on 698 East Lincoln Highway Exton PA, 19341 at 11 o’clock in the morning. Family will be there beginning at 9:00 a.m. for visitation.
