Francis J. Shinn, Sr., age 82, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born in Philadelphia to the late Frank M. and Julia (nee Coleman) Shinn. In 1955, Frank graduated from West Catholic Boys High School in Philadelphia. Frank worked for a variety of companies in many roles but spent the dominant part of his professional career working for J I Case Company all over the country and indeed the world as a manager of sales and operations. His work, while a passion, was never more important than his family.
Frank is survived and missed by his wife, Kathryn, with whom he shared sixty-one years of marriage; his four children, Patricia Schnell, Francis Jr. (Donna), Kathleen Bradlee (Jonathan), and Joseph (Laura); his grandchildren, Francis III, Laura, Bryant, Ryan and Sarah Kathryn; his brothers, Edward (Karren) and Thomas; as well as many extended family and dear friends. Frank was a loving husband, wise father and loyal brother known for his quick wit, personable spirit, and willingness to help anyone in need. He will live on in the hearts and minds of those lucky enough to have known him.
Frank was a devoted and active member of his parish, SS. Philip and James, corner of Route # 30 & Ship Rd., Exton, PA 19341, where he was a member for over forty years. Viewing and visitation will be held there on Friday, October 18, 2019 beginning at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am.
Interment at St. Agnes Cemetery.
