Colin J. Tipping, formerly of Drexel Hill, PA passed away suddenly on December 20, 2019 at the age of 36.
Colin was born in Yeadon and grew up in Drexel Hill. He attended St. Dot’s where he met and talked incessantly about all his life-long friends and their many exploits. He transitioned to Cardinal O’Hara, but did not find it challenging enough, so he transferred to Monsignor Bonner where he said he graduated somewhere near the top of his class.
His work career was quite varied, as you would expect from a man of so many talents. He mastered the heating and air conditioning field, became a world-class landscaper, then tried his hand in school photography. He really took to this; but said he had to move on...... something about his boss. Then he hit the lottery-Amtrak. He absolutely loved Amtrak. He loved his friends at Amtrak and probably spent more time there than at home. We were fortunate enough to get to listen to the thousands of stories about his new venture with his new friends at work.
He was a great uncle who loved his nieces and nephews, but they loved him more. He had two great sisters and two cousins that he considered brothers. He loved his mom and dad. Colin had many, many friends and he was very loyal to all of them. He talked more about his friends than anything else.
Colin is loved and missed and the time we had with him will always be cherished. Our only hope is that there is a tanning salon and sneaker store in heaven.
Loving son of Joseph and Maryrose (nee Cook) Tipping. Beloved brother of Bridget (Joe) Imszennik and Kate (Al) Boulier. Uncle of Sean, Ella, Owen, Isabelle, Mary Jane, and Claire. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. on Monday, Dec. 30th at St. Dorothy's Church, 4910 Township Line Rd (corner of Burmont & Township Line Rd), Drexel Hill, PA 19026 with a Visitation 10-10:45 A.M. at the Church. A Visitation will also be held Sunday evening 6-8:30 PM at the Logan Funeral Home, 57 S. Eagle Rd, Havertown, PA 19083. Interment Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery.
