Barbara Ann (Hoffman) Mulvey

Barbara Ann Mulvey (nee Hoffman) of West Chester, 84, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many, died October 13, 2018 at Chester County Hospital of heart failure. Born in Cohoes, NY she graduated from Catholic Central High School.

Barbara’s greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends, including Easter celebrations in Charleston, surprise birthday party festivities, summer weekends in Barnegat, bus trips with friends, and leading a senior support group that cultivated some of her closest friendships. Always quick with a joke, she was full of life and endlessly ready for an adventure.  She will be remembered fondly for her infectious laugh, thoughtfulness, generosity, and gentle spirit. Barbara was a pillar of strength for her family, which can be attributed to her life-long and steadfast faith.

Barbara, and her husband Bob, who preceded her in death in 2010, were married for 54 years and were devoted to family. Their deep love was evident in Barbara’s self-less and unwavering care of Bob for 17 years after his diagnosis of Dementia. Barbara is survived by six children, Karen (Craig), Mary (Kurtz), Patricia (Gerry), Colleen (Mark), James (Wendy), and Thomas (Joanne), 14 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church 1325 Boot Rd, West Chester, PA 19380.  Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M.  Interment Private.
