Philip Carbonetta Obituary

Philip “Phil” Carbonetta of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on April 6, 2021 at 40 years old. He was a caring son, brother, an uncle of five, and a wrestling coach to many. He was a loving partner to Sue Jones, who tragically passed alongside him.

Philip was born June 30, 1980 in Wynnewood, PA. Graduate of the 2002 Class of Williamson Trade School.  He had a heart second to none, with endless love and support for wrestlers, family, and friends. He had the ability to make everyone he encountered feel like the most important person in the world. His wrestlers span from coaching at Monsignor Bonner, Sun Valley, Upper Darby, and most recently Marple Newtown. He placed second in the nation in 2001 in the NJCAA for wrestling. Phil volunteered when his mother was in need of a kidney and donated his own to save her from kidney failure. He had a passion for wrestling, coaching the youth, and especially his dog Roxy. His laugh was contagious, always followed by the iconic “Yo Ripp!”. He lived life to the fullest, putting everything he had into whatever he was doing. To know Phil, is to love Phil; he was a shining beacon of life for the Carbonetta family.

Devoted son of Nicolo B. and the late Milvia (nee Sciorilli) Carbonetta.  Adored brother of Nick (Michelle) Carbonetta and Sandra (Russ) Carbonetta.  Loving uncle of Anthony, Dominic, Gianna, Alessandra and Angelina.  Also survived by many cousins and students that he loved coaching and mentoring. Loving "doggy dad" to his dog Roxy.
