Kathleen A. Daly, 72, of Rahway, passed away on March 24, 2021.
The beloved daughter of the late James T. Daly, she was born on Nov. 14, 1948, in Newark, New Jersey. Kathleen graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in 1967 and spent the next five decades of her life in banking. In 2013, she was promoted to Regional Vice President of Two River Community Bank.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter Meaghan (Sean) Thomas and granddaughter Eilis Thomas of Cherry Hill; her brother James M. Daly of Brigantine; her niece Melissa (Tom) Muir and her grandnephew Michael Daly of Gainesville, Virginia; and her many, many cousins.
She was an artist with a special talent for ceramics, a sports enthusiast who loved figure skating, tennis, and the New York Yankees (especially Derek Jeter). Her Catholic faith was the foundation of her life: she was a parishioner at St. John Vianney in Colonia for thirty years. When Covid-19 shut down church services last year, she watched Mass on EWTN every morning and prayed the Rosary.
Above all else, she loved her family. When Meaghan was growing up, Kathleen jumped at every opportunity to volunteer as room parent or chaperone a field trip. There wasn’t a single dance recital or performance or graduation that she missed. In 2018, she was overjoyed to become “Gammy” to her granddaughter Eilis, and after retiring in 2019, happily agreed to watch Eilis once a week during the school year. Needless to say, the days she spent laughing, playing, reading, and dancing with her granddaughter these past two years were some of the happiest of her life.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 402 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ.
