Roy A. Pirritano

Roy (Rocco) A. Pirritano, 84, a forty eight year resident of Lionville, Chester County, passed away on August 25th while being cared for at Spring Mill Senior Living, in Phoenixville.  He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy (Delovich) in 2009.  He is survived by a daughter Susan, son-in-law Scott Aharonian, and two grandsons, Adam and Alex of Narvon, PA.       

Roy was born in Calabria, Italy and immigrated to the U.S. through Ellis Island in 1936. He and his family resided in Mildred, PA.  He is the son of Frank and Maria Pirritano, (deceased) brother to Isabelle Thompson (deceased) of Havertown, and Mario Pirritano, Camp Hill.

He was a Temple graduate with a degree in communications and worked for twenty-eight years at the Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia.  He was a retired U.S Army Lieutenant Colonel and Master Sergeant who served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Roy was also a dedicated sixteen-year volunteer at The Chester County Hospital. He was an avid reader and hunter.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass on Saturday September 10th at 10:30 A.M. at Ss Phillip and James Parish, located at 107 North Ship Rd. Exton, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ss. Philip & James Church.
