James Christopher West

James C. West of Downingtown, 52, died late on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 14th, 2017 at Paoli Memorial Hospital.  Jim was the loving father of Justin and Alex.  He is survived by his wife, Lynn, his mother Patricia, sister Kathryn (Patrick McCauley), uncle Alfred, and cousin David.  He was the beloved uncle of Eric, Meghan, Christian, Peter, Christine, Alex, Frank, T. J. and Nicholas.

Jim was born on April 21, 1964 in Lansdale, PA to Frederick J. West (deceased) and Patricia Gordon West.  He graduated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in North Wales and Bishop Shanahan Catholic High School in West Chester.  Jim’s distinguished career at General Ecology, Inc., in Exton, PA spanned over twenty years.

Jim was a seasoned outdoorsman.  An avid fisherman and hunter, he would happily share his time and experience with anyone who asked.  He spent many happy hours with his friends and his sons fishing and boating at Marsh Creek and French Creek.  Jim’s early experience as a restaurant chef and bartender initiated a lifetime love of gourmet cooking, for which all who knew him remain grateful.  

Most of all, Jim was an unfailingly generous person; generous with his time, his skills, his tools, his food, his attention.  He could always be counted on to show up when asked or needed.  In any instance, he was ready to help out and was always prompt and reliable.  After his older brother/best friend died in January, Jim was especially care-full for his mother, younger sister and brother’s loved ones.  Jim was in the true sense a committed husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, and friend.

The Rev.
