Harry L. Hundermark, formerly of Folsom and Wallingford, passed away at age 85 on March 18th at Sunrise Senior Living of Exton.

Born and raised in Manoa, Harry attended Sacred Heart Parish School and was a proud graduate of St.Joseph’s Preparatory High School in Philadelphia. After graduation in 1949, he joined the Army and loyally served our country as a member of the Military Police until the mid 1950s. At the same time, he began a long and successful career at Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company in Philadelphia which spanned 50 years. Starting in the mailroom in 1949, he worked his way up through the ranks to become the Vice President of Human Resources, the position he held at the time of his retirement in 1999.

Harry was a warm, outgoing, and loving family man. He and his wife Phil were married in 1959, and moved to Folsom where they raised their three children. Harry lived in Delaware County for more than 80 years, where he was a well-respected member of the community. He served as a Democratic Commissioner in Ridley Township from 1976-80 and continued to support the efforts of the Democratic Party for many years. He was a lifelong, devout Catholic who over the years was a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Church, St. Madeline Church, and St. John Chrysostom Church. Harry’s devotion to God and family was only rivaled by his love of sports. In particular, he was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers; he had the hats and apparel to prove it!  In addition, he was known as a master of corny jokes, also known as “Hundermark Humor,” that always made his family smile.

Harry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Philomena Dell’Oso Hundermark, his parents, Anna Kappes Hundermark and Harry G. Hundermark, and his 3 sisters, Ann Wirth, Eleanor Curley, and Mary Nevin. He is survived by his devoted children Harry K. (Michele) Hundermark, Theresa (Charles) Bouchard and Lisa (Christopher) Schreiber. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren of whom he was always so proud - Stephanie, Harry, Charlie, Julianne, Caroline, Jack, Andrew and Emily, as well as numerous nieces and nephews with whom he remained close through the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral mass 10:30 AM on Monday, March 27, 2017 at SS. Philip & James Church, 723 E. Lincoln Hwy., Exton, PA 19341 where family and friends may call Monday at the church 9:30-10:15 AM.  Visitation also Sunday evening 5-7:00 PM at the Logan Funeral Home, 698 E.
