Elizabeth G. Harendza

Elizabeth G. Harendza, daughter of Vahe and the late Ruth C. Garabedian, passed away on September 4, 2016. In addition to her father, Elizabeth is survived by siblings Valerie (Robert) Kalwas, Carol (Paul) Goulian, Haig (Anne) Garabedian and Gwen (Michael) Kania; nieces and nephews Alyssa (Rob), Katherine (Sean), William, Michael, Elizabeth, Thomas, Kevin, Melanie; great niece and nephew Charlotte and Garrett; uncle, aunts, many cousins and many dear friends.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, University of the Arts in Philadelphia and Temple University.

Elizabeth taught art at Upper Darby High School in Pennsylvania for 25 years. Many of her students became successful artists in varying careers.  Her proudest teaching accomplishment was her “Upper Darby kids”, three very talented art teachers she was privileged to mentor during their student teaching days.

Elizabeth enjoyed nature and took great delight in her gardens, the beauty of a single blossom, stones with shapes molded by moving water, the call of a bird, the site of birds visiting her various feeders and even a simple bug choosing to feed on one of her plants.

 Elizabeth’s kind, caring and giving nature, her wonderful and quirky sense of humor, her beautiful smile, her ability to battle adversity, her strong values and gentleness endeared her to those who knew and loved her.  She will be missed by many but never forgotten and always remembered with love.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday evening 6-7:30 with Words of Remembrance 7:30-8:00 P.M. at the Logan Funeral Home, 57 S. Eagle Road, Havertown, PA 19083.
