Barbara Swahl

1933 – 2016

Beloved Wife, Mother, Mom-Mom, Aunt and Friend.

Barbara was born in Philadelphia to the late Lillian (nee Russell) Detwiler and Cloyd C. Detwiler, and is predeceased by her loving husband James C. Swahl, Sr., and their beloved son Bobby.

Raised in the Cardington section of Upper Darby, Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Upper Darby High School, and an active member of Temple Lutheran Church in Havertown.  Barb was loved by all who knew her.  Always ready to share a smoke, a drink, or a laugh, she was the best friend, the favorite aunt, and very best Mom.  

Survivors:  Devoted mother to son James C. Swahl Jr. (Debra), of Pottstown, Daughters Barbara – Hope Sunderland (Bart) of Downingtown and Jeannie Funk (Edward, Jr.) of Limerick; Loving Mom-Mom to 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Sister of Lorraine MArshall of Winter Park, FL.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, February 3, 2016, 10:30 AM at the Logan Funeral Home, 57 South Eagle Rd., Havertown, Pa 19083.

Visitation: Wednesday Morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM prior to the service and Tuesday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment: Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, Pa.
